Purvis Jewelers Celebrates 35th Anniversary: 150 Strands of Pearls to Be Given Away

Purvis Jewelers is the oldest jewelry store in Lakewood, CO, celebrating 35 years on Colfax Avenue this November.  The Purvis' are also celebrating being voted #1 for Designer Jewelry in the Denver area by Channel 7's A-list voters

In honor of these occasions, 150 strands of cultured pearls are being given away as part of their Ladies Night celebrations.  After-hours parties for ladies only will take place on December 2nd and December 4th at the store, 9190 West Colfax (at Garrison) from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m.  Ladies will be given the chance to register for a strand of pearls on either date.  No sales will be transacted, the parties are strictly celebratory.

Purvis Jewelers began in 1974, and has specialized in custom designing jewelry ever since.  Custom designed jewelry items are made and jewelry repair is done at the Lakewood store.  John W. Purvis III has won many design competitions and specializes in one-of-a-kind items often featuring colored diamonds.  The award winning designs are displayed at the store and items are "made fresh daily" for customers.  Both John & Pamela Purvis feel that they are in the best business in the world in the best place in the world.   They are thrilled to be celebrating the store's 35th Anniversary and of course, the A-List honor.

LAKEWOOD JEWELER WINS ROCKY MOUNTAIN JEWELERS DESIGN COMPETITION

Purvis III of Purvis Jewelers in Lakewood, CO has won the Rocky Mountain Jewelers 2008 Design Competition in the $3,000 up category.  Purvis' 18 karat yellow gold custom-designed ring features a brilliant 1.57 ct. center diamond with 12 side diamonds.  The ring is called the "Blue Wave" as the large center diamond is a bright blue color (a natural diamond that has been color-enhanced).  The award-winning ring retails at $10,500. Purvis Jewelers, the oldest jewelry store in Lakewood, CO, has specialized in colored diamonds in the area for decades. 

The Rocky Mountain Jewelers is affiliated with the Jewelers of America and sponsors a design competition for member jewelers in Colorado and Wyoming.  Their annual conference was held October 4 and 5, 2008, and the design contest and voting took place then.  The Rocky Mountain Jewelers boasts a membership of  over 160 stores. 

Purvis Jewelers has a collection of natural colored diamonds available for viewing in the store.  Natural colored diamonds are unusual, rare and costly.  The most famous colored diamond in the world--the Hope Diamond--is a natural deep blue color.  The Hope Diamond will celebrate 50 years at the Smithsonian in 2009, the most celebrated colored diamond in the world and the most-visited artifact in the Smithsonian Museum.
